Show The Tariff Commission The new Tariff Commission of ' six members will administer the flexible provisisons of the 1930 Tar-ih Tar-ih Act. It is stated that President Hoover Hoov-er desires to make the Tariff Commission Com-mission a permanent scientific body working continuously and exclusively exclusive-ly on this subject in somewhat the way the Interstate Commerce Com-missison Com-missison works at our railway rate structure. If he succeeds in this attempt he will have accomplished more toward taking the tariff out of politics than any Chief Executive in the nation's na-tion's history. The time is ripe for such an effort. The country is tiic.d of seeing "tariff tinkering" I made a partisan footbal and a log- I rolling contest. |
