Show Sanpete Co. May Produce Some Certified Seed A. E. Darley, instructor in vocational Agriculture at North Sanpete High School was recently informed by Dr, F. Stephens, State Agricultural Inspector, In-spector, that the Certified Rural Potato project handled by Lyman Beck of Spring City and the Certified Dicklow Wheat project handled by Leo Larsen' of Mt. Pleasant, had passed field Inspection In-spection for certification again this year. These boys are both high school students of last winter, growing these crops as a part of their vocational agricultural ag-ricultural course. If successful in passing the final inspection, in-spection, these seed plots will be a real contribution to Sanpete agriculture as they are the only certified seed plots attempted in the County. Mr. Paul Cowan, local manager of the Telephone Company, entertained the Telephone operators of Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant and Ephraim, at a picnic and outing out-ing at Palasade Park, Saturday evening cards were played and weenies were roasted on a bon fire, after the luncheon lunch-eon was served to the following guests, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cowan, Douglas Cowan, Miss Ina Scovil, Alice Olsen, Callice Hansen, Anna Wright, and 'Florence Merz of Mt. Pleasant; Josephine Joseph-ine Anderson, Reah Madsen, May Nielson and Mable Hansen of Ephraim the remainder of the evening was spent dancing in the open air hall at Palasade Park.. ' Mrs. Jesse Peterson, entertained the H. M. C. club members at a dinner Tuesday afternoon in honor of her birthday anniversary. About fifteen guests were seated at the dinner table. ' Miss El Rasmussen and Miss Oleah Wall left Monday for Salt Lake City where both will teach in the Hamilton school. |
