Show i I I FAIRVIEW j I J The annual old folks party for Fair-view, Fair-view, Oak Creek, and Milburn will be held in the Fairview High School, Sept. 8th. The program included: Speech of welcome, by George F. Olsen; Prayer and blessing on the food; dinner will be served from 12 to 1:00 o'clock. A continuation of the program will follow 'after dinner at "The Laural" moving 'picture theater, Trio by Preston Stewart and company, Reading by Miss Inez Jeppson. Vocal solo by Mrs. Rhoda Mower.. Accordian solo, by Lawerence Allred. Song skit by Mr. Jessie Sund-wall, Sund-wall, and Co. Vocal solo by Mr. Jessie L. Young. One act Play by the committee. com-mittee. A picture show will follow. Mr. and Mrs. James P. Larsen announce an-nounce the marriage of their daughter Ardeth to Allan Dyer of Salt Lake City 'August 29th, 1928. The young couple left for San Francisco August 31, on e honeymoon trip. They will spend the winter attending school at San Francisco, Fran-cisco, where Mrs. Dyer will study art. Mrs. Dyer has taught the past three 'years in the Jordan District. Mr. Dyer will also study art, at San Francisco. Fran-cisco. ' Mr.. H. M. Rasmussen station agent at Fairview, for the past twenty years left this week to be operator at Spring-ville Spring-ville D. & R. G. W. station. Mr. Ras-i Ras-i 'mussen has a very pleasing personality and has an amiable and courteous disposition. dis-position. He has served the people well and his many friends regret to see him leave our community. He has Served two terms as Major of Fairview and held a number of other Civic positions, posi-tions, He was always interested in everything to upbuild our community. He leaves with the best wishes of the ! public. The two Fairview Ward M. I. A's joined in their opening social, Tuesday 'evening. The remainder of the evening was spent in dancing. About 500 people took part. Mrs George Jensen of Standardville lias been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. 'Peter Peterson the past ten days. 1 Mrs. Vilate Sorenson visited relatives in Springville the past week. Mrs. Niels Jensen who died at the Salt Lake Hospital, was brought to I Fairview for interment. Funeral services ser-vices were held in the North ward chapel with bishop Henry-Jones presid-ling, presid-ling, Music was by the combined ward r choirs, with a vocal solo by Rapheal Clement, Speakers were: Peter Sund-wall, Sund-wall, George Olsen, Fred Danielson and closing remarks by Bishop Jones. Many beautiful flowers were given by friends Interment was in the Fairview City Cemetary, where A. L. Carlson dedicated ded-icated the grave. She was 48 years of 'age at the time of her death. ' Mrs. Roxie Jensen, was the daughter 6f Mr. and 'Mrs. Walter Nunley, she was born in Virginia, and came to Fair-view Fair-view with her parents when she was 'a very small girl. She was the mother of ten children, five of whom survive her, her husband also survives. Myrtle, Violet Lavar, Alvin, and Douglas Jensen Jen-sen all of Salt Lake City. They lived at Fairview for several years and then made their home at Elslnore.. Tne ipast two years they have made their jome at Salt Lake City. ' Miss Esther Coombs who spent the summer at Provp has returned to her ;'home. ' Miss Dot Rasmussen has gone to ! Springville to attend High School tne i 'coming winter. ' Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson of Salt 'Lake City came to Fairview and celebrated cele-brated their Golden wedding September j'4, at the home of Darius, Sanders, who is Mrs. Thompson's brother. Supper 'was served to twenty five guests, who enjoyed a pleasant evening. They were married at Fairview fifty years ago, and were former residents here. Mr. Walter Cox was a special guest, he is a relative and celebrated his 76 birthday birth-day anniversary. |
