Show The Good Old Grad The following original poem was given by Miss Dorothy Jacobs at the North Sanpete High School annual Alumni Banquet held at the high school on Saturday, December 27. "Having all been here together we are united with common bonds of memory and reactions. I shall try to tell you of my feelings as a good old graduate of N. S. H., best known as a 6. 0. 6." Oh, what joy it is to be Listed as a G.O. G. Aren't we glad we did our stuff, Had our fights and acted rough .So that we could go to High, Yell the yells and kick the sky Stuff our classes, chew our gum, 1 Sit in study hall and hum; Lean on radiators for hours ; Talking to The Flower of Flowers, : King the gong a lot too soon, Be ten minutes late at noon Throw spit balls and break up chalk Sit in English D. and talk. Hang around the cooking room Watch the teacher cuss and fume When we stole a cake or two, Didn't you do this, now didn't you? Carve your name upon the walls, Loiter lazily in the halls Have a water fight and trip A quiet little girl who'd slip And nearly fall clear down, the stairs Go home at night with many tears In your new clothes, quite all you had And get a spat or two from dad. And did we ever study ! Well, Sometimes that is hard to tell Our memories sort of seem to fade When we go back to think of grades And 'xammations and all such I don't believe we stndied much But still there's every indication That we had a wonderful education. And oh what joy it is to me To know that I'm a G. O. G. |
