Show Junior High School Opera The North Sanpete junior high school students will present the opera "Love Pirates of Hawaii" at the Elite Theatre Friday and Saturday Sat-urday evenings, (February 19th and 20th. The cast Includes the following characters: Dorothy Dear, daughter of the plantation manager, Lois Jensen; Miss Primer, Prim-er, teacher of a private school for girls, Kathrine Rasmussen; Billy Wood, Lieutenant, U. S. Cruiser, Tennessee, Phil Gunderson; Pirate Pir-ate Chief, a heartless pirate, Ross Anderson; Scary, a pirate, Wesley Johansen; Lehua, Frances Roberts; Rob-erts; Karnlani, Mary Nelson; Lil-ince, Lil-ince, Delia Syndergaard; Maile. Jean Christensen. There will be a chorus of sixty voices with orchestra or-chestra accompaniment. The Plot concerns Dorothy, an American girl, who has been left in a seminary at Honolulu in charge of Miss Primer. (She is prim.) Billy Wood, Dorothy's friend, is on the Cruiser Tennessee, Tennes-see, which has just come in. As it is difficult to visit the seminary, Billy intends coming as a professor, profes-sor, and so writes Dorothy. Later he changes his mind and sends a second letter that he will come as a pirate. This letter falls into the hands of Miss Primer! Along comes a band of real pirates. Undaunted Un-daunted and thinking them confederates con-federates of Billy, she bluffs them into being captured single-handed by her. They are made cooks. Billy comes along later, is' discovered discov-ered and captjred by the pirate "cooks." Dorothy contrives to free him and he goes for assistance. His return is accompanied by Old Gloiy and patriotic songs, thus finishing with a fine climax. In connection with the two act opera, the breath taking show "Sporting Blood" will be shown. The special price for the opera and the regular show Friday and Saturday nights will be 25c and 10c Matinee prices Friday afternoon af-ternoon at 3 o'clock are 5c, ltic and 15c; two shows for one. |
