Show SPRING CITY J i By Special Correspondence Mr. and Mrs. Orson Hansen of Spring City announce the marriage mar-riage of their daughter, Eura, to Mr. Kenneth W. Shields of South Jordan. At present the young couple are visiting at the home of the bride's parents, but they will be at home at South Jordan after February 1. Mrs. Alired Nielsen entertained a number of her daughter, Ar-lynns Ar-lynns friends at their home Tuesday Tues-day evening in honor of her fifteenth fif-teenth birthday. Games were played play-ed and refreshments were served. Mrs. Minnie D. Barney and Mrs. Easton Kelsey were called to Redmond Red-mond Monday because of serious illness in the home of their brother, bro-ther, William B. Allred. Mr. Frank Brough spent the holidays visiting his father, Moroni Mo-roni Brough, and other relatives here. Mr. Brough is working for the Livestock Company. The Misses Marie and Bernice Baxter and Wilbur Baxter of Columbia Col-umbia are visiting then- grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. John R. Baxter, Sr. Mrs. Grace Allred returned last week from Columbia where she was called because of the iUness of her sister, Mrs. Frank Larsen. Mrs. Allred was accompanied home by her nephew, James Strate who will visit here with relatives for a few days.' Don Strate, a student at the University of Utah, is spending the holidays with his mother, Mrs. R. Strate. LeGrand Allred of Preston, Nevada Ne-vada is visiting with his grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Black and Mrs. Clara Allred. Miss Erma Nielsen has returned home from Idaho where she has been visiting for the past four months with her brother, Blaln.. Mrs. . Clifford Jdnes of Fairview visited here Christmas day wita her mother, Mrs. Milton Allred. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Larsen of Bingham are visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Madsen and Mrs. Mina Larsen. Mr. and Mrs. Chad Cox of Logan Lo-gan are visiting here with Mrs. Cox's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jo-seph N. Anderson. Miss Golda Acord, a teacher at the Garland school, is visiting at the home of her father, H. L. Acord, Sr. Mr. Arthur Nunley and family of Salt Lake are visiting with Mrs. Nunley's mother, Mrs. Margaret Osborne, and other relatives. Mr. Gerald Carlson and family of Bingham and Mr. and Mrs. Steel of Springville visited with Mrs. Mina Carlson and family Monday. Mr. Shirley Carlsen of Woodruff Wood-ruff spent Christmas day with relatives rel-atives in this city. Mrs. Mina Carlsen entertained at a dinner Christmas day in honor of her son, Shirley's 21st birthday anniversary. Dinner was served to Mrs. George Overstreet and Mrs. Melvin M. Dnnnnn nf Los Angeles; Mr. Chesley and Harold Norman and Francis Carlsen Carl-sen of Mt. Pleasant; Mr. Delone Carlsen, Miss Edna Carlsen, Miss Eleanor Larsen, Farrel Rasmussen, Dora Carlsen, Genniel Major and the guest of honor. Miss Chrystal Christensen of Chester spent the week end visiting visit-ing Miss Alberta Puzey and Miss Evah Mortensen. Frankie Allred left Friday to spend Christmas holidays In Salt Lake City with his sisters. Earl Allred has opened up the Billiard Hall which has been closed clos-ed since last May. Funeral services for N. P. Hansen, Han-sen, an early resident and Black Hawk War veteran of this city, were held in the ward chapel at 1 p. m. Saturday with Bishop James F. Ellis in charge. Music was by the ward choir under direction di-rection of Ernest Terry. Speakers were C A. Larsen, John S. Elain, John P. Johnsen of Manti and Bishop Ellis. Prayers were offered by Joseph G. Schofield and Otto J. Sorensen. Interment was in the City cemetery. |
