Show Hold-Up Men VIsliS pringClty i Couple Arrested in Connection Connec-tion With Robbery of Aged Pair Sheriff Ed. J. Peterson of Sanpete San-pete count arrived in Salt Lake Tuesday to return Douglas Thomp son and Henry Noorda, both of Salt Lake, to Manti to stand trial on a charge of robbing an aged couple at Spring City Sunday Sun-day night. The Sanpete officer says two masked men entered the home cf Mr. and Mrs. Ezekiel Billington, menaced the aged couple with guns and demanded $5,000, which the bandits declared Mr. BiUing-ton BiUing-ton had hidden in the house. After Af-ter Mr. Billington protested he had no such amount the bandits bound the aged man and woman, threw them in a clothes closet and ransacked the house. In the search they found 70 cents and took a watch and ring from Mr. Billington. During the robbery a grandson of the Billingtons, Boyd Blain, 10, walked into the house and ran for the city marshal. The officer pursued the bandits in their car for several miles, but they outdistanced them. Thompson and Noorda admit having been in Spring City, the Salt Lake police declare. License numbers of the car pursued by the marshal and Thompson's car tally, according to Sheriff Peterson, Peter-son, as does the description of the bandit pair given tire sheriff by Mr. and Mrs. Billington. |
