Show Synod Of Utah lo fse Held Here The Synod of Utah and the Woman's Synodical of Utah will meet in the First Presbyterian church at Mt. Pleasant, October 5, 6, and 7. The Rev. William Forsyth of Cedar City is moderator of the Synod and Mrs. H. W. Reherd of Salt Lake is president of th synodical. The first session will be held at 7:30 P. M. Wednesday, October 5 and will close with the annual young people's dinner at 6:15 P M. Friday, October 7. Among the speakers at the sessions of the synod will be Dr. John Edward Carver, Ogden; Dr. D. H. Hare, Caldwell, Idaho, synodical syn-odical executive for Utah and Idaho; Dr. A. Fry of New York, representing the national board of Missions of the Presbyterian church; Dr. Weston Johnson of San Francisco, west coast secretary secre-tary of foreign missions; Rev. J. O. Arthur of Payson; C. N. Won-acott. Won-acott. New York; Rev. C. H. Hamilton, Toquerville; Rev. N. R. Smith and Rev. T. M. Keuseff Mt. Pleasant, and the moderate-Rev. moderate-Rev. Forsyth. Election of new officers of the synod will be held at the opening session Wednesday evening and the syodical will elect officers Friday at 11:20 A. M. A memorial service will be held jointly Thursday afternoon for the late Rev. Theodore Lee and Elder Thomas Weir, who have died during the past year. At 6:15 P. M. Thursday a men's fellowship dinner will be held in me uuurun aimng nail with Stanley Stan-ley Stephensen, presiding. Included among the speakers for the synodical sessions are: Rev. T. Ross Paden, Jr., Mrs. W. H. Ensign, Mrs. J. A. Poncel, Mrs. S. T. Ricketts, Mrs. W. A. McKay, Mrs. M. M. Johnson, Mrs. T. Ross Paden, Jr., Mrs. J. A. Baker, Bak-er, Mrs. W. E. Day, Mrs. L. Han-chett, Han-chett, Dr. Weston Johnson, Mrs. W. H. Ferguson, Mrs. George W. Wheatley, Miss Margery E. Frink, Mrs. E. R. McFadden, Miss Frances Fran-ces Ball, Miss Ruth Leber, Mrs. S. J. Paul, C. N. Wonacott, Rev. N. R. Smith, and Miss Margaret Forsyth. Reports of the local fields, Richfield, Salina, Gunnison, Pan-guitch, Pan-guitch, Logan Academy, Wasatcn Academy and Westminster College Col-lege will be made at the last session ses-sion Friday afternoon, and messages mess-ages will be read from Mrs. A. L. Jones, Miss Lillian Bushong, and Mrs. Jessie Lee Ellis, in foreign mission fields. |
