Show Coal Mine Explosion Victims are Burried Thomas Lee Pritchett Thomas Lee Pritchett, killed in the Standardville mine disaster, was born at Fairview May 11th, 1899, the son of N. B. and Olive Sanders Pritchett. He was married mar-ried in the Salt Lake temple, De-comber De-comber 19, 1924 to Lola Clyde of Mt. Pleasant, by Elder George F. Richards. He is survived by his wife, one son, Clyde, one daughter, Enid, his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Rollin and Melrose Pritchett of Los Angeles, California, John F., Sanders and June Pritchett Prit-chett of Fairview; Mrs. Lauretta Epperson of Salt Lake, Mrs. Ama-sa Ama-sa Terry of Fairview, Mrs. Beatrice Budwarson of San Diego, California, Cali-fornia, and Mrs. Thelma Woodward of Salt LaKe. Funeral services for T. L. Pritchett Prit-chett were held in the Fairview North ward chapel with Bishop Jones presiding. Prayers were by Peter Peterson and Jordan Mower. Music was by the combined ward choirs with special numbers by Mrs George Olsen and Mr. Jesse L. Young; a trio, "Oh My Father," was sung by H. G. Ericksen, Jay Hafen and Lawrence Sardoni. A violin solo was given by Lawrence Sardoni Jr. The speakers were Mads Anderson, A. U. Miner, John R. Graham and Bishop H. W. Jones. All paid tributes of honor to his life. Flowers were beautiful and in great profusion. A great many friends from out of town came to attend the funeral. More than one hundred people from Mt. Pleasant attended. Carlisle Smith Very impressive funeral services were held Tuesday at 1 p. m. In the Spring City ward chapel for Carlisle Smith, 32 who was killed in the explosion Thursday last at the Standardville coal mine. Vivian Vi-vian Larsen presided at the service. Music was by the choir under direction direc-tion of Ernest Terry. The speakers speak-ers were William Robertson, Bishop Bish-op Bradley from Moroni, Wm. Lee Allred and Bishop James F. Ellis. Solos were sung by Mrs. Reid H. Allred and Mrs. Lola Watson, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Vera Daunard. Prayers were offered by John Baxter Bax-ter and France Madsen. Surviving Sur-viving are his wife, Jennie Rasmus-sen Rasmus-sen Smith, two daughters, Orine and Beth, one son, Richard, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Smith, and by three brothers and four sisters. Cyrus H. Brady Cyrus H. Brady, 34, the thirl Fairview victim of the Standardville Standard-ville mine explosion, was the son of Heber and Jennie Landgreen Brady of Fairview. He received his education in the Fairview public pub-lic school and the North Sanpete high school. He was a World War veteran. He was married to Miss Eva Anderson of Fairview ana they have two sons. Since his marriage mar-riage he has lived in Standardville. He was planning to leave the mine and take up farming in Wyoming this spring. Besides his wife and sons he is survived by his parents and three brothers, Ilo and Reed Brady of Standardville and Elmo Brady of Fairview. Funeral services were held February Feb-ruary 12th in the Fairview North ward chapel with Bishop Jones in charge. The American Legion Post No. 55 assisted in the services and acted as pallbearers. Speakers were Peter Peterson and Bishop J. R. Graham of Fairview, and Mr. Baker of Tooele, who was a buddy of the deceased in the army. The other speakers were Harris Harrison Harri-son of Price and Bishop Jones. Musical numbers were given by J. Floyd Young, Mrs. George Olsen, Mrs. E. Coombs, Jesse L. Young and Stanley Brady. Prayers were by E. H. Anderson and Peter Sund-wall. Sund-wall. Flowers were carried by 16 girls, relatives of the deceased. Interment In-terment was in the Fairview cemetery. ceme-tery. Relatives from six counties in the state and from Wyoming came to atend the services. Udell Fowles Udell Fowles, 22, who was killed in the Standardville mine explosion was the son of Charles and Martha Vance Fowles. He was born in Fairview and received his education in the public and high school hero. He married Miss Beth Cook of Ferron in December, 1927. They have one son. Jack Lee Fowles. He is also survived by his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Lizzie Tomlin of Salt Lake, Merrill Fowles, Miles Fowles of Spring City, Mrs. Leda Strong of Magna, Mrs. Mildred Brown of Og-den, Og-den, Mrs. Alanson Stewart, Cleo and Maud Fowles of Fairview. Largely attended funeral services were held in the Fairview North ward chapel Tuesday. Bishop W. H. Jones presided. Music was by the two ward choirs with special numbers by Jesse L. Young and Stanley Brady, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Peterson and Mrs. Ellis Coombs. Prayers were by Willis Brady and Lester Miner. Speakers were M. K. Madsen, T. J. Fowles, Bishop J. R. Graham and Bishop Jones. Interment was in the Fairview cemetery. |
