Show WHAT'S NEW? About 125,000 square feet of insulation in-sulation board is now manufactured daily in St. Joseph, Mo., from wheat straw. Good fuel and illuminating gas have been produced from low-grade lignite coal. New electric lamps which give a soft light called "artificial daylight" are said to be much easier on the eyes than the ordinary kind. Improved processes enable generating gener-ating stations to produce a third more electrical energy from a ton of coal than was possible five or six years ago. A super-sensitive motion picture film records night scenes with only the ordinary lighting of city streets. Manufacture of various kinds of food by chemical means has been developed de-veloped at the Canadian School of Electricity in Montreal. |
