Gn Sunday, June 28th, Miss Wanda Wan-da Robertson entertained at a breakfast party which was given in honor of her sister. Miss Macel Robertson and also Miss Victoria Jackson. Besides the honor guests there were present, Elverda Llewellyn, Llewel-lyn, Clea and Delia Robertson. Le- ora Sorenson, Winnifred Cook and the hostess. 'Breakfast was servea at ten o'clock. Funeral services were held Sunday Sun-day afternoon at two o'clock in the ward chapel for Christian Christiansen, Chris-tiansen, better known as Chris sagard, who died at Fairview following fol-lowing an illness of three years. Singing was furnished by the ward choir, "Nearer My God to Thee." "Resting Now From Care and Sorrow," Sor-row," and "Rock of Ages." Opening Open-ing prayer was offered by LaMont Madsen and the closing prayer by Newell A. Johnson. A solo, "My Work is Done," was given by Lena Johnson. The speakers were Jos. P. Jensen, Pres. James L. Nielson and John E. Aagard. A duet, "Day Follows Nignt" was rendered by Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Borgeson. The services were very impresive and it was an unusually large funeral fun-eral as mere was not one relative present. The Sccial Hour Club met June 25th at the home of Maggie Frandsen Frand-sen for tneir monthly meeting. The afternoon was spent in quilting after af-ter which a deiicious chicken dinner din-ner was served. Those present were: Caroline Larson, Thora Robertson, Rob-ertson, Lena Livingston, Zina Jac-cbson, Jac-cbson, Clara Christensen, Rena Crcwther, Lena Allred, Matilda Sorenson, Matilda Hansen and the hostess. Miss LaJune Oldroyd of Salt Lake City is visiting with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Ivory. Mr. and Mrs. Giles Vance have returned from Tooeie where they have been for some time. The outgoing officers of the Social So-cial Hour club were entertained by the new officers and members at Lhe home of Matilda Hansen, Sunday Sun-day afternoon. An enjoyable afternoon af-ternoon was spent and a dainty-luncheon dainty-luncheon was served. Those present pres-ent were: Maggie Frandsen, Mary A. Mikkelsen, Matilda Hansen. Caroline Car-oline Laijn, Lena Livingston, Thora Robertson, Libbic Hansen, Lena Allred, Matilda Sorenson and Rena Crowther. Mrs. Polly Shawcroft of La Jara, Colorado is visiting for a few days with relatives here. Fountain Green was well represented repre-sented at the third annual Maple Canyon Day celebration which was held last Saturday, June 27th. An unusually gocd program was given at 3:30 which consisted of selected musical talent from the Utah Ag-iioultural Ag-iioultural college, University of Utah and Brigham Young University. Univers-ity. A band concert was also given giv-en by Moroni high school band. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Allen, Mrs. A. F. Allred and Polly Shawcroft spent a few days this week with lelatives at Centerfield, Utah. Mrs. E. J. Coombs returned home this week from Mt. Pleasant where she has been bedfast for the past two weeks. She was accompanied home by her granddaughter, Miss-Phyllis Miss-Phyllis Holman, who will remain with her indefinitely. A bundle shower was given for Miss ictoria Jackson Monday evening eve-ning at the home of Willie Jackson. Jack-son. An enjoyable evening was spent in games and stunts. Many beautiful gifts were received. An elaborate luncheon was served to forty guests. Miss Jackson' will be married July 1st to Mr. Leland Anderson f Tremonton, Utah, in the Logan Temple. |
