Show in. Some two hundred fifty women were in attendance at the Annual Convention Conven-tion ot the Sanpete Sevier district I'ed-.-Mtion. -at ion 01 W-men' cinUs lickt Tuesday at Richfield. Mrs. John Culley of Ogden. President Presid-ent of the State Federation of Womens clubs and Mrs. C. E. Maw of Provo. ex-president of the State Federation were both present and addressed the convention. Mrs. H. O. Brown of Manti and Mrs. H. C. .Jacobs of Mount Pleasant, members of the general ted-fration ted-fration committee, spoke briefly of their work as state dire tots. Two sessions were held, one at 10:-30 10:-30 A. M. the other at 2 p. in. m the second ward chapel. The progiam included in-cluded patriotic singing, directed by Mrs. A. J. Bird: salute' to the fla-; led by Clifford Nelson of the American Legion, prayer, Mrs. A. K. Hansen, address ad-dress of welcome, Mayor Frank Martines; response. Mrs. F. J Nie!-.:n Mt. Pleasant: vocal solos. Mrs. L A. Poulsen Richfield and Mrs. S. H. Gill. Mt. Pleasant; presidents address. Mrs. A. J. Ashman. Richfield: sextette. Joan of Arc", directed by Mis. Anna Collo-way; Collo-way; girls chorus. "The Snow", and tass quartet from Rigoletto. direeu-J bv J. L. Terry. Luncheon was enioyed a noon at. the Johnston Hotel where. Mrs. L. A. Poulsen acted as toastmistress Responses were in the form of toasts, readings, club songs pianologues and solos, from clubs of Mt. Pleasant. Spring City. Moroni. Fountain Green, Ephraim, Manti. Salina, Gunnison, Monroe and Richfield. Officers elected for the coming year were: Mrs. Elsie Rex. president; Mr;-. Rebecca Madsen. vice president: Mrs. Oscar Nielson, corresponding secretary Mrs. J. Oscar Anderson, recording secretary. sec-retary. Miss Priscilla Crane, trea-urer all of Salina. By invitation of the Ladies Literary and El Progrerso clubs of Salina, the 1929 district convention will be held in that city. ' A club tea was the concluding feature feat-ure of the convention from 4-5 p m In the amusement hall of the Second ward chapel. There were about 30 ladies of Mt. Pleasant reoresenting th 20th Cnt-"-v club, the Home Culture Club. the O. S. A. club, the Junior Literary club, and the Acme Literary club who attended the convention. |
