Show WINTER STORM TRAVELS WIDE Snow Falls East as far as Missouri; Freezing Temperature Change Kansas City, Mo. The lion-lilts snowstorm that has gripped the Rocky mountain section for several days, ao companion by rain, sleet and snow, reached down into the southwest or, Tuesday. Snow was reported froir. nearly all sections of Kansas and most of Missouri, northern Oklahoma sr.d the Texas panhandle are blanket, ed with white, it was said at the weather bureau here. The storm reached Kansas Sunday, and before noon Monday the ground was covered with a thick blanket, Dodge City reporting that from four to six inches had fallen in that section, wuh the storm continuing unabated. Early Monday afternoon the snowfall had extended eastward into Missouri and later reports came from southeast Kansas towns of a heavy snowfall in progress. Salt Lake City. Winter staged a comeback Sunday night, but his sway will be short-lived, according to J. Cecil Alter, meteorologist in charge of the Salt Lake office of the United States weather bureau, who asserts that the "lamb" will have devoured the "lion" before noon Tuesday. |
