We were most favorably impressed impress-ed with thorough efficiency of the management and efficiency of this organization. The enthusiasm, so appareant in this organization, leaks volumes for the officials whose enterprise has created and made possible, tills model all-Utah industry. Trade territory 11 Western states, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico. Average Aver-age dally production 70 tons or 140,000 pounds, with annual average aver-age of 20,000 tons including pipe and fittings. Products manufactured manufactur-ed Cast iron pipe for waterworks, gas service and sanitary uses Including In-cluding pressure pipe nnd flow pipe and fittings for waterworks, cast iron pipe nnd fittings for gas service, ser-vice, soil pipe and fittings for sanitary san-itary use and various cast iron specials spe-cials for both waterworks and sanitary san-itary service. Since every ton of pipe made requires five and one-half one-half tons of raw materials Including Includ-ing Iron ore, coal, coke, Unierock, sand, clay, tar, lead and lumber, this means about 385 tons of freight to serve this one Industry, to be handled dally by the labor of mines, railroads and the steel and pipe plants. These raw materials are produced as follows: Iron ore for pig Irou from Iron County; coke from coal mined In flarlwn County ; Umerock from Tooele and Utah Counties; clay from Sevier and San Pete Counties; sand from Thistle, Sprlngvllle and Orem in Utah County ; lead from Salt Lake County. Coun-ty. Annual sales of our products throughout the 11 Western states average approximately $2,000,000.-00, $2,000,000.-00, all of which with the exception of Federal taxes and a part of the Dividends is disbursed throughout the State of Utah. The average dally wage Including Includ-ing skilled and unskilled labor In the plant Is $4.05. Some of the foundry employees earn as much as $7.50 per day.
