Show NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS. The confeectionery store owned by Mrs. Anthon Gundersen was broken into Saturday night about eleven o'clock and a quantity of pop corn, soda waiter and candy va? taken from the windows. The thieves who were evidently mischie vous boys, had smashed the front windows with rocks, 'but. wer? frightened away before .gaining entrance en-trance to the store and had only taken what they coulld reach from the window display. Miss Elverda Hafen entertained the O. N. O. Club at her home Wednesday Wed-nesday evening October 6th., a social so-cial time was enjoyed after which '.iih,t refresh raents were served. Miss Ada Mc. Anthur and Miss Roma Standsfield entertained the Red clover Bee Hive Girls at the home of Miss Mc Arthur. The evening was spent in play in? games after which they were taken to the Kozey cafe and light refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brewer have been advised of the birth of a daughter daugh-ter to their daughter, Mrs. Wanda B. Nielsen in Los Angeles on Oct. 4. Keusseff will review Chapter 2 of "The American Government" Govern-ment" by Frederick J. Haskin. Members of the Junior Literary Ciub were entertained Thursdaj evening at a kensington and luncheon lunche-on given by Miss Crystal Jensen Durin,; the evening Miss Nell Madsen rendered a piano solo and also read a comprehensive paper on "fire Prevention". Mrs Andrew Romero of Soda Springs, Idaho, a former resident of this city is a guest here of her sister Mrs. Matilda Matsen. Under the direction of Mrs. Fran-CU Fran-CU J Nielsen head of the English department de-partment at North Sanpete High School a new literary society, "The Blue Stockings" is being organised organ-ised at the school. Only student who have written a theme of merit, prised upon by a literary committee, will be eligible to membership in the society. j Floyd Larsen. a son' of Mr?. Elizabeth Eliz-abeth Christensen of this city, won second prize in the saxophone competition com-petition at the state, fair in Salt Lake last week. |
