Pleasant, Utah Sanpete County Bankers Association ' December 1, 1926 To' Our Customers: ' Wfc desire fro call the attention of our patrons to the following item9 of expense necessary in the handling ot check accounts: . Check Books, Postage, Pass Books, Envelopes, Deposit Slips, Remittance Sheets, Statement Sheets, Adding Machine Paper, Ledger Sheets, Proof Sheets, and other small sums for stationery and supplies. Also a proportionate amount of employes' em-ployes' salaries, rent, taxes, depreciation on machines, typewriters, fixtures, etc. Experts, who have made a careful study of this subject, assert that it costs the average bank in excess of $1.00 per month, or $12.00 per year to carry the average account. This is interest on $120.00 at 10 per cent. What are the conclusions! On accounts, whose average daily balance is less than $120.00, the bank sustains a loss. The American Public does not ask something for nothing. They are willing to pay for valuable service, efficiently rendered. ' ' Many of the banks of the State are asking a Service charge of $1.00 per month on checking check-ing accounts that do not average at least $100 00 per month. We are going to- cut these figures in half and ask our customers to share this loss with us. .Accordingly, beginning January 1st, 1927, the undersigned hawks will-make a Service Charge of. 50c per month against all checking accounts whose average daily balance is below $50.00, where three or more checks have been written; 'except where , the owner controls oru: ' or, more checking accounts, where the average balance is in excess of $50.00. . No charge will be made against Charitable or Church Organization. .,. We believe the great majority of our customers will see the justice of our cause and either increase their balances, or, gladly pay tke out' charge for the privilege and convenience of having a banking connection :; T '-: ''-' . This action is not taken to deprive any one' of a banking connection. On the contrary wo welcome you all. We ask only partial re-imbursement for money actually paid out, and for services honestly rendered. ' . .. We take this opportunity of thanking our many patrons for past patronage and wish foi you all continued prosperity. ; Yours very truly, MANTIT CITY. SAVINGS"' BANK,' MT. PLEASANT COMM'L. & SAV.
