Pleasant, Vtah Sanpete County Bankers Association , December. 1, 1926 To Our -Customers: ' "Wo desire to call the attention of our patrons to the following items of expense necessary in the handling of check accounts: Check Books, Postage, Pass Books, Envelopes, ; Deposit Slips, Remittance Sheets, Statement Sheets, Adding Machine Paper, Ledger Sheets, Proof Sheets, and other small sums for stationery and supplies. Also a proportionate amount of employes' em-ployes' salaries, rent, taxes, .depreciation on machines, typewriters, fixtures, etc. "Experts, who have made a careful study of this subject, assert ..that it costs the average bank in excess of $1.00 per month, or $12.00 per year to cany the average account. This is interest on $120.00 at 10 per ceni. What' are the conclusions? . . ( On accounts, whose average daily balance is less than $120.00, the bank sustains' a loss. : The American Public docs not ask something for nothing. They are willing to pay for valuable service, cfliciently rendered. Many of (lie banks of the State are asking a Service charge of $1.00 per month on checking check-ing accounts that do not average at least $100 00 per month. . We are going to cut these figures in half and ask our customers to share this loss with us. ' Accordingly, beginning Januaiy 1st, 1927, the undersigned banks will make a Service Charge of. 50c per month .against all checking accounts whose average daily balance is below $50.00, where three or more checks have been written; except where, the owner controls one or more checking accounts, where the average balance is in excess of $50.00. No charge will be made against Charitable or Church Organizations. We believe the great majority of our customers will see the' justice of our cause and. Cither increase their balances, or gladly pay the oOe charge-for the privilege and convenience j of having a banking connection. ' . . .. This action is not taken to deprive any one of a banking connection. On the contrary we' ; welcome you all. We ask only partial re-imbursempnt for money actually paid out, and f nv ; services honestly rendered. We take this opportunity of thanking our, many patrons for past patronage and wish for you all continued prosperity. X- i" ' Yours very truly, . . . 'ii.! MANTI CITY SAVINGS BANK, ' ,: I ' ; MT.
