Show CHRISMAS SEAL i SALE JS NOW 01 Christmas Seals have made their ! annual appearance. From now until the holiday season ends they ' will be sold throughout Utah by the Utah Tuberculosis Association to ! raise funds for the fight against the ; white plague. Two hundred letters signed by the president, Dr. O. K. Hansen, hav? ! been sent out to the merchants and : professional men and into the homes of .Mount Pleasant citizens, request- in,g them to purchase the Christmas ! Seals and use them on all their ; .statemens, 'packages and general mail. The mail sale method of selling sell-ing seals is regarded as a business way of handling tem and is used generally gen-erally throughout the United States by the tuberculosis associations. In Mount Pleasant a special committee com-mittee has been named to handle the Seal Sale consisting of: Bishop A. L. Peterson, Chairman, Superintendent A. E. Jones, general director for North Sanpete, Mrs. S. D Longsdorf, Mrs. T. C. Candland Dr. P. L. Hol-man M'l-s. Hyrum Christensen, Mr. W. K. Throndson and Mrs. T. N. Keuseff Dr. Hansen states that this year marks the twentieth anniversary of the national sale of Christmas Seals, which has financed the fight against tuberclosis in the line of education for the prevention and control of the disease. In that line the death rate has been practically cut one half. The educational and preventive work, in th field oif individual and community health, is universally recognized as of great value and the Christmas Seal lias come to be the accepted emblem of health education and a yearly re-mined re-mined of the fight against tuberculosis. tubercul-osis. In Utah the efforts of the association associa-tion have been directed on health education in its various forms. They have helped school districts finance school nurses and North Sanpete D'strict is one of the districts which has-been assisted in this way. The project for the coming year is to w'ork for a tuberculosis sanatorium for the state. The design of the seal this year :s especially attractive.
