Shows Marked Increase In Enrollment An increase of 23 per cent over the enrollment of last year was registered at the Brigham Young university at the end of the second day, and it is fully expected that this lead will be maintained throughout the year. The students come from widely distributed sections, sec-tions, geographically, there being be-ing 82 Utah communities represented. re-presented. In addition there are students from 41 communities communi-ties in the surrounding states of Idaho, Arizona, Wyoming, Oregon, California, Colorado, Montana and Texas; and several sever-al from Mexico and Canada. Classes commenced Wednesday Wednes-day morning, and special periods peri-ods have been arranged each day to register the large numbers of students who continue to pour in from all parts of the inter-mountain country. In spite of the large influx of students, no difficulty has been experienced in find-in find-in suitable boarding places. The unprecedented building program which has taken place in Provo during the past summer sum-mer has made available ample boarding and lodging facilities. It is expected that students will continue to register during! the next two weeks, as the farm work is gradually being finished fin-ished up in the various sections of the state. |
