Show IMPORTANT ROAD MEETING MEET-ING HELD AT FAIRVIEW i Emery County representatives met Tuesday with Fairview and Mount Pleasant men in a meeting at the ,IJiigh School in Fairview and discussed discuss-ed ways to get a road completed from Huntington to Fairview. G. F. Olsen presided at the meeting meet-ing with Lionel Peterson as secretary P. Sundwall, Jr. spoke of the project pro-ject and also mentioned other road activities, in connection with the visit vis-it of the state road officials who were bene Monday. M. S. Black, president of the commercial com-mercial club of Huntington, and B. A. Howard were here from Emery County. They told of the iroad being be-ing already built up Huntington to the forks about ten miles below the coal mine and 'expressed the hope that funds could be obtainable to complete this project if lumber men here would interest themselves in the splendid lot of timber in that section. A forest development movement "s one of the ways ;n which it could be accomplished in the shortest time. When a road is made through this route to Fairview, it will make the road from Emery county to Salt Lake 23 miles shorter than by goinig the old way. John L. Bench spoke of the great amount of timber to be found in that section.- And also that the summit was 'much lower than that of the Ephralm-Orangieville road. j S. M. Neilson spoke of the beauty of that part of the country and ihe importance of the road. J. W. Humphrey, Fonest Super-' visor, was also present and said he was interested in the road as well, as was other forest officers. S. II. j OLerlon also spoke of the road as a great benefit. LeHoy Rigby and H. M. Rasmus-ien Rasmus-ien spoke to the men assembled and assured support to the movement. Already men are asking foir the priviledge of cutting timber in that jection. |
