Show East Airmail Contract Let Washington The contract for th5 eastern section of the transcontinental airmail service between New York and Chicago has been awarded to the National Na-tional Air Transport, Inc., of Chicago. The company will carry the mall for $1.24 a pound, one cent above the contract con-tract submitted by the North American Ameri-can Airways. The latter concern's blu was protested by Paul Henderson, former assistant postmaster general and now genera manager of the Nation Na-tion Air Transport, Inc., on tho srounds that government airmail employees em-ployees and a number of pilots were alleged to have agreed to suborlbe to $100,000 in stock cf the North American Amer-ican Airways providing that company secured the contract. j |
