Show NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS Miss Crystal Jensen, who has been teaching this winter fat Hiawatha, D. K. Jensen and '. JJerschel Jensen arrived home I Tuesday, being called home by their mother, Mrs. S. E. Jen-j .sen's serious illness. Mrs.! Jensen was stricken very ill Sunday and has only begin to ,regain a little strength at this writting. For three days she :was unable to speak, but is at (present regaining her speech land memory. j D. B. Jensen has also been Very ill at the Jensen home i since his arrival here. .. Mrs. Kay Stringham of Manti Man-ti visited Mt. Pleasant friends j this week. I Miss Bernita Frandsen cn- tertained several guests Sun-, day afternoon in honor of her (birthday anniversary. j ; Mrs. George Madsen enter-, .tained the Twentieth Century) ,'Club at her home Thursday j .afternoon. The afternoon 'Sj program consisted of these j numbers: Community singing national airs; "Origin and Meaning of Our National Sings j Mrs. B. AV. Candland; vocal .solo, "Old Glory," Mrs. Obed ) Nelson; "What Our National j Songs Mean to Our Children," ,Mrs. Fannie C. Miles, district, isupervisor; "Origin of St., Valentine," Mrs. Seymour Jen- sen; each member made a pa-,( triotic response to roll call. Twenty-five guests enjoyed .-luncheon. .-luncheon. The club will not meet next week owing to the' military ball which the club is sponsoring on Washington 's birthday. A fire, caused by an over heated cook stove, caused much excitement but little damage at the home of John Marx at noon today. The volunteer vol-unteer fire department made a quick run to the home and ithe fire was soon extinguished with only small damage to the kitchen and the roof. The annual mid-winter social soc-ial for the O.S.A. club members mem-bers and their partners was given Monday evening at the home of Mr. and ' Mrs. S.D. j longsdorf. During the evening even-ing a muscial program was presented pre-sented by the Misses Louise and Evelyn Madsen, Bert Connect Con-nect and Thomas Tomlinson, land games and contests were i enjoyed. An elaborate lun- j chepn was served for thirty five guests. j Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Broth-ersen Broth-ersen entertained at dinner Sunday evening for Mr. and Mrs. Guy Candland, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Mower, Mr. and (Mrs. Frank Jones,and Mrs D.I. Christensen. ' Mrs. II. C. Jacobs and small 1 son Bryant of Provo spent last j week here with relatives. I Miss Lucy Lovell of Price,' Mrs. Henry Von Elm of Ilia-! watha, and Paul M. Long of j Los Angeles were last weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Lovell. . 1 ; Miss Emma Cleinensen and Miss Jean Meyrick who have been attending the'U. of U.this winter are at home for a short, stay. j1 1 The Senior Christian . En-, i deavor Society entertained at a successful valentine party Monday evening at the home I of. Mr. and Mrs. OF. Wall.1 I Red and white color scheme -j was successfully carried out in jail details and valentine games i and stunts formed the even- j ing's entertainment features. Twenty guests were present. ' ! Mr. and Mrs. Paul M. Long and little daughter Martha left 'Tuesday for Caldwell, Idaho i after visiting here with Mrs. Long's parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Lovell. A. valentine party for the ! Intermediate Christian En-deavorers En-deavorers was given Tuesday 'evening at the J. D. Meyrick home. Mrs. Joseph Barboglio ancl small daughter of Helper visit-jed visit-jed here several days this week. Edwin Johnston entertained a party of fifteen friends Sunday Sun-day evening in honor of his birthday anniversary. Mrs. F. H. Pickett and Miss Dorothy Simpson spent this ,week in Salt Lake City. Miss Ethel Gunderson was hostess at a birthday dinner for ten guests Sunday. i Announcement is made of "the birth of a daughter to Mr. ,and Mrs. Farield Larsen yesterday; yest-erday; also the birth of a daughter dau-ghter to Mr. and Mrs. Leander Olsen at Moroni, Mrs. Olsen was formerly Miss Zelda Bas-mussen Bas-mussen of Mt.
