Show Nome Receives Serum Supply Nome, Alaska.- No further dang er is anticipated in Nome from the diptheria epidemic following the arrival ar-rival of the second consignment of antitoxin from Anchorage. According Accord-ing to Dr. Curtis Welch, sole physician physi-cian in charge of the fight to control con-trol the disease, more serum is on hand than can be used for some time. There are few actual cases of the disease and measures are being taken tak-en to prevent others. Light quarantine quaran-tine restrictions are still in force. The serum was brought in by Edward Rohn, who drove his dogs from Chi-nik Chi-nik to Nome, slightly over ninety miles, in less than eleven hours' running run-ning time. |
