Before he became settled in any school he was stricken with a severe attack of Influenza. While little is known of his experiences until un-til he reached Salt Lake City, it is presumed that as soon as it becama evident that he was coming down with pneumonia, he struck for the mountains. When his parents found him in tho L. D. S. Hospital it was such an effort for him to talk, he was not asked for any explanation, and so the hard struggle from Chicago to Salt Lake City, where he was found by Dr. Edmunds, with a fever of nearly 106 degrees, will always remain a matter for conjecture. He died on October 8th and was taken to Fairview for burial. The body was met at the depot by many citizens and proceeded to the home by the Fairview brass band, which played appropriate funeral marches. The funeral was largely attended and many tributes of love and sympathy sym-pathy were in evidence. The speakers speak-ers were Dr. 0. K. Hansen, C. P. Olson and Bishop Hansen.
