MOKE Not content with preaching greater great-er wheat and sugar beet production for next year. Hie Utah Agricultural College is making extensive arrangement arrange-ment to teach greater production to as many hundreds of farmers as can leave their farms for the three months of the winter term. During this term, which runs from December Dec-ember 3, 1917, to March 10, 191S, great emphasis will be laid on practical prac-tical work intended to prepare the man on the farm to increase his yields materially next year. Highly High-ly vital courses will be offered in farm management, soil improvement, improve-ment, the growing of wheal, beets, and potatoes, and ill dry fanning. Each course open to practical fanners fann-ers will stress those forces that can be put into instant operation to increase in-crease our yield next year. Preparation Pre-paration of soil, selection and preparation pre-paration Of seed, improved methods of cultivation,, correct irrigation practices, insect eradication, better harvesting methods, principles of marketing, and the storing of farm products will all be given emphasis. There are thousands of fanners in Utah who can spend a few months away from the farm securing the latest ideas in Agricultural practices. prac-tices. Every farmer who can get away should prepare himself to serve his country lo the best pi his ability. The College is making adequate preparation to care for all. The labratories, class rooms, libraries, libra-ries, and all other equipment of the -institution will be offered freely to those wide awake farmers who take advantage of this excellent opportunity oppor-tunity to serve themselves and their nation. A groat many of Utah's foremost Agriculturists have already signified their intention of attending Hie U. A. C. winter term. It will be a period of inspiration' and stimulation stimula-tion for all who altend. |
