Show SPRING C1TT C. IT. Strate was a business visitor in Salt Lake City the fore part of the week. Simon T. Beck made a trip to the northern part of the state the later part of the previous week. Alonzo King went to Marysvale Saturday on business connected with the company he represents. Mrs. Moroni Bradley has been visiting visit-ing with relatives in Manti for a few days. 1 Leo Monsen departed for Salt Lake Monday, where he will seek imploy-ment. imploy-ment. Halley Schofield arrived home from Rupert, Idaho Tuesday, after an absence ab-sence of several months. Miss Alealh Allred is spending a few days visiting with her sister, Mrs. Hortense Peacock, at Fairview. Mrs N. C. Thompson, who has been in Salt Lake for sometime on account of undergoing an operation there arrived home Sunday. Mrs Fannie Strate was taken to q.,U Lake Tuesday for treatment by a specialist, sne mu lv in health for some time. King Irving and Crisp Threshing Machine Co. have received gang p ows for their large traction engine this week. They expect to do service ser-vice work for others. Several business letters were read by the president concerning the Red Cross work. A very interesting reading was given by Mrs. Joe Beck. Dainty refreshments were served by the hostess. After which club adjourned to meet at the home of Mrs. Morgan Johnson Friday, November 30, at 2 p. m. I A very pleasant affair of the present pres-ent week was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Aiken Wednesday Wednes-day evening, when they entertained in honor their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. Mrs. Evan L. Aiken. B'orty-four B'orty-four guests were present, and the evening was immencely enjoyed by all. There was something1 doing all the time. A delicious luncheon was j served at ten thirty. Features of the evening were a Hawaiiana song by-Mrs. by-Mrs. Ruth Aiken, a couple of Dutch songs by Evan L. Aiken, who has served as a missionary to Holland. Mrs. Aiken also showed the guests a very nice collection of various things brought by her from Hawaii. A Mass Meeting was called in i Spring City the later part of the i previous week in the interest of food conservation. Mayor John P. John- - son acted as chairman of the mcot- ing. The following speakers talked on Food Conservation and other - affairs of importance, effecting us nationally and locally in the war against the Imperial Government of Germany, J. F. All.-ea, J. M. Johnson, John-son, J. T. Plain. Mrs. S. L. Pnr.nol and Hishop Samuel Allrert. Twenty-five Twenty-five dollars was given at the meeting toward the Soldier's Welfare Fund. The meeting recommended that a perniinent record be kept of all those who contribute toward the various relief funds, etc., in behalf of the government, and steps were taken to establish such a record. |
