Show NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS The many friends of W. C. Clos will be grieved to learn of the death of his mother, Mrs. Lena Clos at a hospital in Salt Lake City last Monday. Mon-day. Mr. Clos left for Salt Lake Monday morning. In honor of her birthday anniversary, annivers-ary, Mrs. H. F. Wall entertained at a beautiful appointed dinner Thursday Evening for Prof, and Mrs. C. L. Johns and Mr. and Mrs. O. F. WTall. Covers were placed for eleven. Mrs. Thomas R. Reese entertained several friends Wednesday afternoon at an old fashioned quilting followed j by and elaborate six o'clock dinner. I The guests were Mrs. Sherman Allred of Salt Lake City, Mrs. H. C. Merz, Mrs. Byron Carter, Mrs. Mary O. Mad-sen, Mad-sen, Miss Arcilee Barnett and Miss : Addie Andersen. i j The Woman's Missionary Society met Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. T. M. Keusseff. The devotion-' ; als were conducted by Mrs. Keussefl I and Miss Ethel McCormick gave an excellent talk on, "Reaching the African's Af-rican's Heart Through His Hands." Mrs. G. W. Brand read, "Industrial Work in Africa Today," and Miss Esther Es-ther Norton played a bsautiful organ solo, "Chant Du Nord." After disposing dispos-ing of various business matter, about twenty guests enjoyed luncheon. Mrs. A. Crane entertained a party of friends at a five o'clock luncheon Monday afternoon, the occasion being her birthday anniversary. A tall ' crystal vase of red and white conia-tions conia-tions formed the centerpiece on the dining table on which covers were placed for Mrs. Eli Kelsey, Mrs. E. W. Wall, Mrs. O. N. Clemensen, Mrs. Bennett Munk, Mrs. Miranda Oman, Mrs. Rakkie Brothersen, Mrs. S. E. Jensen, Mrs. William Olson, and Mrs. R. Andersen. Mrs. Glenn G. Neill of Salt Lake City was the honored guest at a ken-sington ken-sington and luncheon given Tuesday afternoon by the Misses Gladys Ericksen, Goldie Neilsen and Kate Ericksen, at the later's home. There were present, besides the guest of honor, Mrs. Thomas R. Reese, Mrs. Sherman Allred of Salt Lake City, Miss Eva Simpson, Miss Arcilee Barnett, Bar-nett, Miss Addie Andersen, Miss Eva Ericksen, Miss Ruth Candland, Mies Marjorie Winters, Miss Winona Cherry, Cher-ry, Miss Velma Tidwell, Miss Ruth Monsen and Miss Beatrice Neilsen. Mrs. William Hafen entertained at a delightful children's party Sunday afternoon in honor of her little daughter, Wilma's tenth birthday anniversary. an-niversary. The following little guests were present and spent an enjoyable afternoon with games and music, followed fol-lowed by refreshments: Helen and Luella Ericksen, Kathryn Earl, Helen Fowles, Corene Seely, Berniece Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, Ila Reynolus, Pearl Hafen, Melba Carlson, Ruth Jorgensen, Beth Candland, Madge and Phyllis Reynolds, Rey-nolds, Ruth Barton and Alice Mad-sen. Mad-sen. The Twentieth Century Club was entertained Thursday afternoon bv Mrs. Usher Winters and Mrs. R. H. Hinckley at the Winters home. Mrs. ' R. L. Madsen concluded the review of H. G. Well's book, "The Soul of a Bishop."; The book was then given by the club to the Mount Pleasant Public Libiary. A number of beautiful beauti-ful Victrola selections were enjoyed after which an elaborate luncheon I was served. About fifteen members were present, with Mrs. O. J. Harney and Miss Nellie Norris as special guests. , .. The Wasatch Academy Faculty was entertained at a delightful party and luncheon Tuesday evening by Prof, and Mrs. C. L. Johns. During the evening a number of guessing games and a musical program were enjoyed. The guests included Rev. and Mrs. R. B. Norton, Mr. and Mrs. G. Oscar Robinson, Miss Etnel McCormick, Mrs. Mary Morehead, Miss Eleanor Draper, Miss Helen Campbell, Miss Mary Adams, Miss Grace Newman, Miss May Hull, Miss Mary Trowbridge, Trow-bridge, Miss Lucile Tysseling, Miss Ruth Mitchell, Earl Gardeman and Kelvin Newton. |
