Show FUNERAL SERVICES FOR JAGOB BUSHMAN Funeral services for Jacob Bushman, Bush-man, age 88 years, who died March 25th, were held in the Fairveiw ward chapel. March 27th. Choir sang, "When First the Glorious Light of Truth," prayer by W. H. Clark, singing, sing-ing, "How Firm a Foundation." A biographical sketch of his life was given by J. T. Fowles. Quartet by Ellis Vance & Co., "I Know My Heavenly Father Knows." Christian Peterson, Peter Peterson and Bishop H. P. Hansen spoke well of his life and labors. A d'Uet was given by Ellis Coombs and Mae Madsen, "Unanswered "Un-answered Yet," choir sang, "Farewell "Fare-well All Earthly Honors." Benediction Benedic-tion Lewis Larsen. Those who came from out of tswn to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Bushman. Mrs. Mandy Saby, Martin Bushman, John Bushman, Bush-man, Albert Bushman, and Samie Rhodes of Lehi and Ruby and Mary Lindquist of Salt Lake City. The funeral was well attended and floral offerings were many and beautiful. Jacob Bushman was born July 27, 1830 in Burt, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Martin and Elizabeth Bushman, being the third child of a family of ten. At the age of twelve he moved with his parents to Nauvoo, Illinois. The journey was made by team over a distance of 1,000 miles. Later he came to California, met Charlotte Hurley and was married to her March 4, 1857 in Sanbernar-deno, Sanbernar-deno, California. In 1857 he returned re-turned to Utah and made his home in Lehi. Here he ran the Saratoga Spring farm and he held the office of city marshal and also was a school trustee. He held a number of church offices. In 18S4 he was called on a mission to Arizona and later made his home at Fairview, becoming one of Fairview's prominent citizens. His posterity were as follows: 10 children with six living; 49 grandchildren grand-children with 36 living; 27 great grandchildren with 23 living; total 106 with 65 living. |
