Show INFLUENZA CONDITIONS ARE MUCH IMPROVED 1 DEATHS OCCURE II KFJUT Home of Bent R. Hansen Is Deprived of Wife and Only Son. Two very sad deaths came to the home of Bent R. Hansen during the Influenza epidemic which is now pre- i vailing in this city. Saturday afternoon, March 22nd, at two o'clock Mr. Hansen's wife, Mrs. Marie Anderson Hansen, age 25 years, died of Influenza after an illness of five days. Mrs. Hansen was formerly Miss Marie Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter L. Anderson of this city. She was born at Aarhus, Jyland, Denmark on i February 4, 1894. Fourteen years i ago last December she came to Utah with her parents and has made ( Mount Pleasant her home since that o' time. Mrs. Hansen is a graduate pf )( the North Sanpete High School. She ti was married to Mr. Hansen on De-5- cember 19, 1917. Besides her husband, she is sur- vived by her parents, one brother, )! Louis, and four sisters, Mrs. Farrel t Rasmussen, Mrs. Merrill J. Ander-o! Ander-o! son of Ephraim, Devonia and Alice l Anderson. ii Funeral services were held in front ii of the family home Monday afternoon, after-noon, March 24th, at 1:30 o'clock. I Bishop A. E. Mcintosh presiding. J Music and appropriate, hymns were ( rendered by members of the ward i- choir. The' opening prayer was of-1 of-1 fered by Elder Andrew Larsen and si the closing prayer by Elder James S Monsen. The speakers were Pres. A. Merz, Mayor W. D. Candland and Bishop Mcintosh, all of whom spoke of the loving character and sterling worth of the departed sister. The grave at the city cemetery was dedi-t dedi-t cated by President C. N. Lund. j Tuesday evening, March 2 5th, at nine o'clock, Leo Hansen, age 18 years, died of the same disease af-ter af-ter an illness of eight days. He suffered severely with pneumonia during his last hours, j Leo was born in this city on July i 18, 1900. s His mother, Mrs. Mary ? Allen Hansen, died on March 12, ' 1915, just a little more than four 1 years ago. She was married to Mr. Hansen on January 19, 1891. Besides Be-sides his father, Leo is survived by one sister, Bernita, who has also been ill with influenza. Funeral services were held at the residence yesterday afternoon at two o'clock. Bishop A. E. Mcintosh presided. pre-sided. The opening prayer was offered of-fered by Elder Christian Johansen, and Elder Thomas West offered the benediction. The ward choir was present and sang the following appropriate ap-propriate hymns: "Rock of Ages." "Sometime We'll Understand," and "Shall We Meet Beyond The River." The speakers were President C. N. Lund and President A. Merz, both of whom spoke highly of the life and character of the departed brother, and also spoke on the topic of "Life After Death." Bishop Mcintosh dedicated the grave in the city cemetery. ceme-tery. The floral offering at both funerals have seldom been equaled in Mount Pleasant. They were indeed many and beautiful, showing the high esteem es-teem and respect in which the departed de-parted were held by their host of friends. The entire community extends its sympathy to Mr. Hansen and daughter, Bernita, in their sad be reavement. Bent R. Hansen is one of Mount Pleasant's leading and progressive citizens. He is associated with many of the business interests of this city. At present he is head of the Bent Hansen Lumber Company, a director of the ' North Sanpete Bank, vice-president vice-president of the Wasatch Mercantile Company, president of the Elite Theatre Company, and also of the Armory Hall Company. During recent re-cent years Mr. Hansen has taken an active part in public life. For six years he was a member of the school board, and at present he is a member of the City Council. Mr. Hansen wishes to express his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the following who so kindly contributed contri-buted flowers which covered the graves of his loved ones: North Sanpete Bank Officials, Mt.
