Show WOMAN SUICIDE HORRIFIES CITIZENS BELIEVING HER HUSBAND TO BE UNTRUE, MRS. HNDREW CHIPMAN HANGS SEIT IN BARN After much abuse from her husband hus-band and believing him to be untrue, iMrs. Andrew Chipman of this city became despondent and ended her ; career Tuesday Apr.il 6 by hanging herself to the rafters in a barn at her .mother's home in this city. j It is reported that her husband is living with another woman at St. Anthony, Idaho. Mrs. Chipman recently re-cently returned from St. Anthony, where her husband has lived several years and reported that she was bad- : ly abused while at that place. '. Mrs. Chipman had carefully executed ex-ecuted the terrible preformance. Her ' mother, Mrs. Rakkie Brotherson was . attending the funeral of Mrs. Loran Stewart when Mrs. Chipman took a strong rope and went to the barn where she closed the door and wired it fast to avoid being disturbed by anyone Late in the day her brother's wife came to the home and found the body in the barn. She immediately called for help and the body was taken into the home. Upon investigating it was found that she had used a ladder to stan'd on while tying the rope around her neck and then kicked the support away. The victim of the tragedy is survived sur-vived by a 9-year-old daughter. The entire community is horrified by the final ending of a life led by the wife of a brutal husband. Funeral services were held this Saturday at the South ward chapel with Elder Mads Anderson presiding. The choir was present and rendered appropriate . hymns for the occasion. The opening prayer was offered by Patriarch Peter Monsen. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ericksen sang a duet and Miss Christie Clark a solo. The speakers were Elder James Monsen, President C. N. Lund and Elder Mads Anderson. The closing prayer was offered by Elder T. W. Dyches. The grave at the cemetery was dedicated by Elder Andrew Larsen. Public sentiment was aroused to a very high pitch over the tragedy and a great crowd attended the funeral. |
