Show Three Form of Anthrax. Anthrax may occur in human beings in three forms external, intestinal or pulmonary. The external form In caused by an abrasion of the skin com ing in contact w ith a hide or other ob Ject infected with the disease. Intestinal Intes-tinal anthrax may be caused by the eating of food containing the bacilli, and the pulmonary variety by breath ing infected air. This latter disease has long been known as "wool sorters' disease" In Kngland. where great quantities ol sheep pelts are sorted and graded. The disease has also long been well known in the wool and hide trades In this country, and especially on the sheep ranges of the southwest. |
