Show Republicans Candidates in ihe Field I Candidates for the two judicial judi-cial offices are already in. the open from- the Republican --I ranks. Attorney J. W. Cherry : of this city has been spoken of as an aspirant for the attorney- -ship, and in an interview this week with the Pyramid, confirmed confir-med these rumors. He has been doing considerable campaign-! ing in a quiet way already, a trip to Emery and Carbon coun-; ties this week having been taken tak-en in connection therewith. j Attorney Ephraim Hansen of Eph- ; raim is another aspirant for the' same office and has iiis hat in the . ring for all it is worth. For the judgeship the present incumbent, A. H. Christehsen of Manti is a candidate candi-date for re nomination and so far there is no opposition, in the open at least. Emery county has a man or two who are said to be seeking the attorneyship nomination, but, as that county has bigger game in sight it is more than probable that San- pete will get that nomination as well as that of the judge. . Utah -ill have two members in Congress next term, by reason of the added population shown in the recent census. Both will be at large. Among the candidates mentioned for the nomination are W. D. Cand-land, Cand-land, president of the state board of land commissioners, Benner X. Smith and Carl A Badger of Salt Lake. Both are state senators. Among the others are R. W. Sevy of Sevier and G. A. Iverson of Carbon countv. Wm. F. Kr-ox of Beaver countv nnd F. W.Fishburn of Box Elder county. |
