Show V :Lr0ME FOR VISITORS. The visit of the demonstration train of the Agricultural Cjlleget) Mt. Pleasant last Saturday was an interesting inter-esting event, ilia visitors were met at the depot by the reception committee, com-mittee, the Mt. Pleasant band and hundreds of citizens. Hundreds of people availed tnemselves of the opportunity op-portunity of seeing the exhibits of livestock and agricultural products. The stock judging by Prof. Caine was interesting, to a majority at least. Our dairy stock received fair recommendation. Our thoroughbred horses, with one. or perhaps two exceptions, ex-ceptions, d'O not fare so well. At the evening meeting some very interesting talks were given by the Professors on agriculture, horticulture. horticul-ture. Miss Leah Ivins addressed the ladies on the home. In theevenin a banquet was tendered tend-ered the visitors at the Jensen hotel. Mayor and Mrs. J. W. Anderson ar.d Mr. and Mrs. J. II. Seely were special guests. In the evening the visitors were guests of the management of the Opera House at the dance. Much credit is due the committee for their dilligent and unceasing lahors put forth to make the exhibit a success. |
