Show -; V : T y v V - I THOMAS BROOKS FLETCHER One of the most profitable gatherings gather-ings held in Mount Pleasant lor some time was that of .the business men last Saturday at 1 o'clock p. m., w hen they met at a luncheon at the EUU Banquet Hall in honor of Tlioaia Brooks Fletcher, noted lecturer anc editor of Marion, Ohio A'lio gave short address to the business men immediately im-mediately following the dinner. Mr. Brooks was clear and precis-in precis-in his remarks. He told the'men that a town like Mount Pleasant should blossom in prosperity. He said the modern business slogan was "tru'h" in every department, stating thf.t men do business with their friends and not their enemies. He said that the small town of today was doomed without a live buoir.e:;; organization. And in oredr to p.t a dead town to advance there mm;t be funerals and fires. He called attention to the oerman organization as it holds the world In amazement. He advised the men to get together and organize for the betterment of the town. He isaid that a stream of pure water sometimes divides a community and the people know not why. He is a persistent advocate of advertising ones business, especially in new-s-napers, the most valuable medium ir the advertising field. Among those present were: H. Le Roy Neilson, G. R. Nilson, E. Mr. Brooks lectured in the even ng at the Elite Theatre to a mixe audience. In his address on the sub ect of "Martyrdom of Fools" he was eloquent and commanded the deepes nterest from his audience.
