Show MERZ LEANDER THOMPSON At Ephraim on the 20th day of February, 1916, Mr. and Mrs. Le-ander Le-ander Thompson were called upon to part with their only child, Merz Le-ander, Le-ander, whose death came as a great shock to his parents, relatives and j friends for he had been seriously ill j only a few days; and not for years has the death of a child affected a community as this one has. This most beautiful little boy came like an angel an-gel into the home of his grand parents par-ents at Mount Pleasant on the 1st day of last June, being eight months and twenty days old at the time of his ! death, and as his coming into this! world brought unbounded joy and happiness so his departure brings the keenest sorrow to those nearest . to him. He was not permitted to re-1 -main here but a short time and If Our Heavenly Father, who in his ireat kindness has given the parents of this little boy so beautiful a spirit, wishes him back into his presence wo will bow in humble submission to His will and acknowledge His hand in this great sorrow. i The funeral services were held in the South Ward meeting house Tues-i day afternoon and were conducted by Bishop C. R. Dorius. Music was furnished by the combined ward ( moirs. Invocation was offered by Joseph E. Anderson and the benediction benedic-tion by James Frost. The vocal solo, "Your Sweet Little Rose-Bud Has Left You," by Diveda Olsen and the violin solo by Prof. Woodruff Christiansen Chris-tiansen were effectively rendered. The first speaker was Pres. James W. Anderson An-derson of Mount Pleasant. He said that those who came from that place were only a small representation of those who would have liked to have been present. He was followed by-Prof. by-Prof. N. E: Noyes, Pres. Joseph Y. Jensen and Bishop C. R. Dorius who spoke words of comfort and consolation consola-tion to the bereaved relatives and friends. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. Interment was made in the Park cemetery, the grave being dedicated by Elder Joseph E. Anderson. The out of town people vho attended the funeral were Pres and Mrs. A. Merz, Pres. James W. Anderson, Mrs. Willmina Ericksen. Mr. and Mrs. E. Rutishauser, H. C. Merz and daughter, Ludeen, and Miss Annie Johansen, all of Mount Pleasant. |
