Show FUNERAL HELD FOR MRS. CLIFF MANY FFilENDS SHOW KE-PEtT TO THE HK.MOllV OF MRS. El.lY CLIFF. Impressive funeral services fo Mrs. Eliza Cliff, a prominent pionee. woman of this city, wore hold Maud::; afternoon at one o'clock in the North Ward Chapel. Mrs. Cliff was Tt years of ape. Iler death was due tc old age and general debility. The Obsequies were conducted by Bishop H. C. Jacobs who was assisted by Elder Win. Olson. The ward choir was present and sang "Resting Now From Care and Sorrow." The opening open-ing prayer was offered by Elder Tuos West. "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" was rendered by the choir. Beautiful Beauti-ful eulogies of the splendid character of the good woman were delivered by President C. X. Lund. Supt. James W. Anderson and Bishop Jacobs. A beautiful solo. "Oh, My Father," was beautifully rende-ed by Xliss Emma Watson. The benediction was pronounced pro-nounced by Elder Joseph Seely. The lirge number of people who attended the services and ike many beaatiful fiowers bore testimony of the esteem in which the community held ber. The pallbearers were John Cliff, George Cliff, George Reynolds, Albert Hadley, Charles Mills and Elijah Cresswell. The grave in the City cemetery was dedicated by Parley Cliff. Mrs. Cliff was born October 13, 1S39 at Hanley, Staffordshire, England. Eng-land. She became a member of the Latter Day Saints church on December Decem-ber 15, 1S52. She was married April 27, 1S63 to Edward Cliff and they came to Utah in the Eame year crossing cross-ing the great plains by ox team and experiencing the many hardships of the early pioneers. They first settled at Pleasant Grove. Utah, but came to Mount Pleasant in 1864 where they made their permanent home. She was preceded to the grave by her husband hus-band nearly ten years ago.
