Show MA YOR M ON SEN OPENS CITY GATES TO FARMERS ! , - ,; i BOUND-UP TO BE GREATEST GREAT-EST EVENT FOR AGRICULTURISTS; AGRI-CULTURISTS; PREPARATIONS PREPAR-ATIONS ARE MADE TO RECEIVE VISITORS; Gov. SPRY WILL BE HERE. Mayor Joseph Monsen of Mount Pleasant has opened the gates of the city to the farmers from all parts of the county and bids Lhera welcome to our city. The streets have been lighted by strings of electric lights reaching from one side of the street to the other. Preparations are are made to entertain all the people who can find time to come to the great Farmers' Round-Up which begins be-gins next Monday, December 7 th and lasts the entire week. The committees who have had the wort in charge have shown much enthusiasm and they have worked diligently to make everything a successful suc-cessful affair, and in an educational manner to enlighten the farmers in agricultural pursuits. Many of the educators of the Utah Agricultural College of Logan will be here to instruct in-struct the people in the very best methods of farming, dairying, and stock raising. Beginning Monday at 2 o'clock p. m. the program for the week will be carried out as it was published in last week's issue of the Pyramid. Gov. Wm. Spry will be here and take an important part in the festivities festi-vities which are to be given. Among the distinguished visitors will be Pres. John A. Widtsoe of the Utah Agricultural College, Dr. E. Q. Peterson, Peter-son, Dr. F. S. Harris, Prof. John T. Caine III, J. W. Paxman, Ben R. Eldrege, J. E. Dorman, Dr. J. H. Frederick, Dr. G. R. Hill, J. E. Taylor, Tay-lor, L. M. Windsor and Miss Claire Parish. These people will take an active part in speaking to the farmers farm-ers at the meetings which will beheld be-held during the week. This is an opportune time for all farmers to meet together and exchange ex-change ideas of farming and learn of the most up-to-date methods oi making the soil yield its strength. |
