Show it Fountain Green ' !' j DEATH CALLS THE AGED Fountain Green has lost five of its oldest citizens in the last month. Mrs. Christena Yorgason, James Guymon Ann Llewellyn and on the morning of the 3rd Polly Ann Johnson passed away. Mrs. Sarah Collard died on the 6th. Funeral services of Polly A. Johnson was held Monday the 7th at 2 o'clock. She was born in Illinois in 1829 and was acquainted with the Prophet Joseph Smith in Nauvoo, being the last person in Fountain Green who had seen the Prophet. She came to Utah in 1850 and was married to R. L. Johnson who was first bishop of Fountain Green who held that position for twenty-five years. He died ten years ago. Sister Polly A. Johnson was the first president pres-ident of the Relief Society. She held that position for thirty years. She has one son and three daughters living. E. T. Johnson of Rexburg Idaho, Mrs. Julia Oldroyd of this place and Mrs. Frances Reese of Wales. Speakers at the f uneral were Brother of Springville, George Mat-son Mat-son of Mapleton, Peter M. Guymon of Provo and J. L. Neilson of Ft. Green. Polly A. Johnson was the sister of James Guymon who died two weeks before. Her sister Mrs. Me-liss Me-liss Metcalf of Springville is the only sister left of the Guymon family. fami-ly. Sarah Collard wis widow of Comellious Collard, She was 76 years of age and emigrated from England Eng-land in 1864. She was first married to Edward Collard who died in 1868, After his death she married Comellious Com-ellious Collard from which union she has three daughters living, Mrs. Clara Nelson, Mrs. Rachel Aagard and Mrs. Sade Sorenson. Funeral services were held Wednesday after noon. Mrs. Eliza Huggins another elder- ly lady has been very ill for some J cime. She left for Salt Lake on the 8th where she will be operated upon. Dr. Reese ancompanied her on the C trip. Mrs. Ama Amett of Salt Lake is , visiting with' her parents Mr. and' Mrs. R. Rasmussen. j: Mrs. Maggie Frandson and Tildie 0 Hansen are visiting relatives in- Ogden. r Miss Elizabeth Edler left for Salt c Lake last week where she intends to spend the winter. ( Ruby Madsen of Mt. Pleasant teaches school in place of Clara ; Monk of Msinti as was reported at ! the opening of the school year. Thompson and family will move , to Idaho the latter part of the week. Mrs. Vickers and Miss Howarth of Nephi are visiting with Mrs. Alice Hanson. Mrs. Jos. P. Bisshoff and sons of Clifton, Idaho are visiting with their mother Mrs. Ellen K. Olson. Katie M. Anderson received her appointment as Postmaster dated September 1912. She took charge of the office October 1st. The preceed-ing preceed-ing postmaster was Eliza M. Anderson Ander-son who has held the position fifteen years. Almira Mikltelson is recovering from an illness of pneumonia. , The following students left for school at Provo. Afton Allred, Jenna Holman, James and Clifford Moyer, .
