Show MAYOR JOHNSON " NAMES APPOINTEE The first regular session of the new City Council convened Saturday evening, Jan. 10, at the City Hall. Mayor Johnson desired to have matters done in order and expidited in a business way. The rules of the provious Council Coun-cil were adopted as a guide in their proceedings. The Mayor impressed upon the Council the importance of harmony in order that they may act wisely in representing rep-resenting the best interests of the city. They' were reminded of the important recommendations recommenda-tions of the previous Mayor. Mayor Johnson presented the following list of appointments which he desired as members of his official family: City Attorney, J. W. Cherry; Quarantine Physician, Dr. J. C. Stocks; Pound Keeper, Ernest Draper; Street Supervisor Orson Frandsen; Inspector, Mons Monsen; Mon-sen; Sexton, SophusE Johnson; Foreman Fire Department, J. C. Barton; Board of Health, Dr. J. C. Stocks. The Council did not confirm the appointments of City Marshall, Mar-shall, Supt. of Water Works and the Justice of the Peace. They are still in the air and the present pres-ent officers will continue in their respective offices for some time. |
