This vast sum of capital is not now earning earn-ing more than fifty per cent of its capacity. If proper system of farming ay ere practiced, hi.o'li class livestock kept, proper pro-per care o-iven farm equipment, ami the fullest cooperation brought about, this valley could support twice the number numb-er of people it now contains. The banking concerns, and mercantile institutions have cpecialists to assist in the immediate im-mediate execution of proper business methods. They have found this, not only profitable, but indespensible to do efficient effici-ent work. "Why can't the farmers have someone to devote de-vote his whole time to a detailed detail-ed study of local farm conditions condi-tions and practices, 1 someone who can go from farm to farm getting the best that exhists in the country? Such practical prac-tical information gathered and interpreted by a man trained along the broad lines"of practical practi-cal and scientific farming would be of inestimable value to the farmer. A year ago representatives of the Utah Agricultural College Col-lege and the United States Department De-partment of Agriculture were thru the county and proposed .to the County Commissioners that the College and Government Govern-ment would be willing to undertake un-dertake the maintainence of such a man if the county wouh'i appropriate about one half the neccessary funds. Their proposition pro-position was turned down. At various farmers' meetings held in this county the farmers have voted in favor of such an appropriation. ap-propriation. They want the work.
