This will no doubt quiet the national commander cf one of the veterans organizations who was all lor getting World War III started with a big bang in the form an ar expeditionary force to rescue Ward. It hasn't, however, quieted several Republican congressmen who have been on Secretary Acheson's neck icr the manner in which he handled the incident. They don't think he was tough enough. They think he acted without honor when he appealed to 30 other nations to bring pressure on the Chinese communists for the release ot Ward 1 - west sideraiion of this matter on 'he degrees 0 minutes 31 thence south dap res pai of all of our citizens hef.iie 0 minutes west 8.00 chains: a step has lieen taken til l! wd! south 2.3 degrees 30 minplace us in bondage ror jeax 15.75 chains; thenor and which, at the same turn utes west 11 degrees 0 minutes west socth Urn on our district not keep may 1.08 chains; thence west 0.25 of Inill plane educationally which chain; thence southwesterly we desire for it. 3.75 chains to a point 8.20 chains So far as am concm ii, should like to see whatever west of the cutter line of raid t th-ne- money is expended for educa tionai purposes trt North Sur.-p- i le School District he expended ;n such a way that tve.y child no matter what town lie lives in or whether Ills inteiests me artistic ot mhletie, scientific, domestic, he given exact lv .he same advantages, as far as to that is humanly possible achieve, love and honor young pcorY and have always earnestly stiivcn to further any piojcc' and promote any measuie (It signed to make ot them Inti' citizens and more cultured to responsibilities carry on the a.s they which confront them and womanenter manhood comhood in their homes, their munities and their churches. Very sincerely yours, Tina E. Nelson. We beg to disagree with the gentlemen from Conqress. We think Mr. Acheson's appeal was most honorable and approximately 100 per cent smarter than falling for the bait set by Reds by their arrest of Ward. They obviously hoped to induce the United States to resort to war-lik- e force, the same to lend credence to their propaganda that we are a nation of imperialistic warmongers. Instead, Mr. Acheson set an honorable example ot how one nation should conduct its affairs in a community of nations. He stated frankly that the charges against Ward were trumped up. This being so, he felt it right to call upon the other nations of the world to join with the United States in giving severe disapproval of the Chinese Reds' 1 highhanded tactics. Eventhough a threat ot force by the United States in this case may not have led to a war, ve still prefer Mr. Acheson's methods. If mankind is ever to be led away from the road to war, it will be by those who weld the nations of the world into a union. A union, as we have said before, strong enough to contain and bring into line any nation which refuses to abide by the house rules. 1 In The Mail Holiday Time Is Accident Time The live blocks of euib and gutter and the completion ol the same distance of oiled reads has greatly improved the main in Fountain U.teen. highway What about you who do not live on the main highway, are you doing anything about vnur side walk and street?
