Show FOUNTAIN GREEN 1 By Special Correspondence I Fountain Green Woman Passes Funeral services for Caroline Otteson Edmiston, 79, was conducted con-ducted Monday at 2 p. m. in the Fountain Green ward chapel by Scott Cook, bishop. The ward choir song, "Bevond" and "Lead Me Gently Home." Prayers were offered by Ivan Bailey and Victor Rasmussen. A vocal duet, "That Wonderful Mother of Mine," was rendered by Miss Lou Jane Christiansen and Miss Doris Rasmussen. The speakers were James L. Neilson, John E. Aagard, Joseph R. Christiansen Chris-tiansen and Bishop Cook. Ran-dale Ran-dale Christiansen sang, "Lay My Head Beneath A Rose." Mrs. Geraldine Johnson, who was accompanist, ac-companist, also gave a prelude. Interment was in the City cemetery, cem-etery, under the direction of the Ursenbach funeral home of Mt. Pleasant. The graveside prayer was offered by Clifford Mayer. Mrs. Edmiston, a daughter of Christian and Caroline Otteson, was born in Fountain Green, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. Survivors are one son, Gilbert Edmiston of Sacramento, Calif, and a daughter, Margaret E. Adams of Fountain Green; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Maria O. Syme of Fruitland, Idaho, Former Fountain Green Lady Fatally Injured in Car Accident Mrs, Sophie R. Southam, 72, died in a Salt Lake hospital Friday Fri-day of injuries suffered in an automobile-pedestrian accident Tuesday evening.. The accident occurred after Mrs. Southam had stepped from a bus with a daugh ter and was attempting to walk east across State Street. She was born Feb. 12, 1875 in Aarhus, Denmark, a daughter of Robert and Anna Rasmussen. When she was six years old her family came to the United States and settled in Fountain Green, where she lived, until 1893, when she moved to Salt Lake City. She was married to Fred South-am South-am in Salt Lake City June 3, 1S96. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Besides six sons and daughters and a sister and two brothers she is survived Dy three brothers in Fountain Green: Robert,. Leo and Ivan Rasmussen. Funeral services were held In Salt Lake Citv Wednesday, July 16th. Social Items At the home of Mrs. Zina Ja-cobsen Ja-cobsen her daughter, Mrs. Zelda Holman entertained her club niernbers at a delightful luncheon lunch-eon in honor of two of its members, mem-bers, who have resigned. Mrs. Holman vvas appointed President to succeed Mrs. Lizzie Chapman and Vera Johnson succeeds Lottie Lot-tie Bills. Mrs. Laura Llewellyn and her daughter, Mrs. Eva L. Holman and children of Dallas Texas were guests of the week at the home of Mrs, Caroline Johnson and L. Edward Nielson. Miss Delores Lund is spending her- vacation at the H. E. Hansen hpme in Provo. Mrs. Rena Crowther entertained entertain-ed her club members recently at a delicious dinner and afternoon. She was assisted by her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Zetell Coulsen of Hazel-ton, Hazel-ton, Idaho. The D. U. P. officers entertain ed at a social Sunday evening in honor of Mrs. Deon Anderson, Corresponding Secretary, who, is leaving to make her home in American Fork. Miss Geneaf McClellan of Pay-son Pay-son was a house guest of her aunt, Mrs, Relda Holman during the week, Mr, and Mrs. June Collard are Visiting in Colorado for a few days, From Pleasant Grove is Mrs. Laurel A. Schools and daughters, who are visiting with her parents Mr. and Mrs. John E. Aagard. Miss Lou Jane Christiansen had as her guest during the week her cousin, Miss Marjean Gund-erson Gund-erson of Spanish Fork. Mrs. Gladys Winters was hostess host-ess to her club members at a delicious chicken dinner at her home Wednesday afternoon. |
