Show SPRING CITY j 1 By Special Correspondence i Mrs. Katherine Thompson will be honored by her family, July 15th at her home on her eighty-third eighty-third birthday anniversary. Mrs. Thompson has been in ill health for some time. She was born July 15, 1S64 in Seritslev, Denmark. In 1S87 she was married to Christian Thompson Thomp-son in Denmark. He came to this country and earned enough money to pay the way here for Mrs. Thompson and her sister, Mrs. A. C. Jensen of Alta, Canada. Cana-da. The Thompsons have resided resid-ed here since that time. Their five living children are: Mrs. Olga Black, Mayor Charles Thompson, Spring City; Christian Chris-tian Thompson, Salt Lake City, Mrs. Pearl Blain and Fergus Thompson of California. There are 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Mrs. Ruth Osborne, Mrs. Jean Puzey and Mrs. Geneva Justesen attended the funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Crawforth Munk in Manti on Wednesday afternoon. I Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Justesen had as week end guests, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Justesen of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Justesen Juste-sen of Ogden and Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Morley and small daughter from Midvale. Vffeiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Olson the pas' week have been Arr. and Mrs. Leon Waller and two children of Richmond, California; their son, Douglas Olson of Callfronia and a grand daughter, Miss Claudia Lancaster of Salt Lake City. The Alethea club was entertained enter-tained Friday by Mrs. Lerna Jensen. Jen-sen. Her special guests were a sister, Mrs. Lucy Parkin of Long Beach, California, Mrs. Bernice Ericksen, Mrs. Anenia Allred, Mrs. Grace Allred and Mrs. Ada Allred. Mr. and Mrs. Mack Butler and children of Salt Lake City spent several days the past week in this city. Robert Brown and Jay Butler have spent a two weeks vacation from their homes in Salt Lake City with their grandmother, Mrs Earl Jensen. Mrs. Edith Schofield was' hostess host-ess Monday evening to the members mem-bers of the Brids ctub. The special spe-cial guests of the evening were: Mrs, Buby Allred and Mrs. Mayre Anderson. The saores pf the evening eve-ning were won by Mrs. Ruby All-red, All-red, Mrs. Iris Allred, Mrs. Birdie Nunley and Mrs. Evelyn Acord. Mrs. Schofield served a delicious lunch to her guests. Monday forenoon the Primary Guide and Trekker Boys played a baseball game with the Fair-view Fair-view South ward boys at Fair-view. Fair-view. The Spring City team were the victors of the game. These boys were accompanied to Fair-yiew Fair-yiew by their teachers, Mrs. Neva Dye and Mrs. Iva Aiken, also Mr. Reid H. Allred -and Mr. and Mrs. Virgus Osborne. The boys playing play-ing on the winning team were: Don Schofield, Kay Peterson, Leo Osborne, McRay Justesen, Morris Crisp, Ellis Dye, LaNae Mickel, Veldon Hansen an'd Glen Osborne.- The umpires were Osborne Os-borne and Neilsen. Mr. and Mrs. George Jensen have been recent visitors in Salt Lake City with relatives there. Mrs! Edith Sorensen has left fpr a twg weeks vacation to Ida-hq" Ida-hq" arid Washington. . She will Visit relatives in these states. The Allred Centennial Reunion will be 'held Tuesday, July 22nd at Fairmont Park in Salt Lake City. The activities listed are: From 5 to 6 p. m. races, and games for old and young; 6 to 7 p. m. baseball, horseshoe volley ball; 7 to 8 p. m. basket lunches; 8 to 9 p. m. a snappy program will be presented with some of the numbers from Salt Lake's best talent; from 9 to 10 p. m. dancing will be the order. 1 '"11 Allreds' and'' members of the family are cordially invited to attend.' '"The Ward primary study meeting meet-ing for the month" of July was held at the home of Mrs. Mamie Allred Monday evening. Plans for the Sunday evening meeting for August were discussed, also the Primary Birthday party for August and the summer Primary work. Mrs. Olga Black was in charee of the meeting. After the meeting all enjoyed playing progressive rook with scores won by Mrs. Nellie Blain, Mrs. Olga Black, Mrs. Lida Jensen Jen-sen and Mrs. Hilda Jensen. Refreshments Re-freshments were served by Mrs. Allred, Present at the meeting were Mrs. Libble Allred, Mrs. Olga Ol-ga Black, Mrs. Iva Aiken. Mrs. Hilda Jensen, Mrs. Nellie Blain, Mrs. Jessie Schofield, Mrs. Hazel Black, - Mrs. Lida Jensen, Mrs. Mamie Allred and Mrs. Athene Osborne. Mrs. Wyroa Hansen of Provo is visiting her mother, Mrs. Helena Bunnell at Spring City. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Brough of California are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edith Brough.' Mrs. Rose Schofield is at present pres-ent attending summer school at Salt Lake City at the University of Utah. Her daughter, Rosalie accompanied her to Salt Lake. Mrs. Ida R. Billington has returned re-turned home after spending the past eight months in Reno, Nevada Ne-vada visaing her daughters, Mrs. ' Ida Gay and Mrs. Veone Hastings. Has-tings.
