Show Extension Expert Prescribes Budget For Poultrymen In any type of business;- including in-cluding poultry-keeping, it is necessary to develop a definite plan of work and a budget of expenses and receipts must be kept. This involuves keeping sufficient suffic-ient records so that the poult-ryman poult-ryman knows at a glance where he stands financially at any time. Well-kept records should lead to the adoption of sound econ-mic econ-mic practices, provide valuable information concerning the financial fi-nancial status of the poultry Enterprise, En-terprise, and assist the poult-ryman poult-ryman to secure the best possible poss-ible income from his enterprise. The records kept should be as simple as possible but should include such important items as: the date, nature, amount, and. cost of Items bought and sold. After the records have been checked for accuracy and completeness com-pleteness and then summarized, summariz-ed, they should be a great help to the poultryman in determining determin-ing the folloiwng: (1) Amount of money made by the business. y (2) Which parts of the enterprise enter-prise were most profitable? Why? (3) Which items were the most expensive and possibility of reducing re-ducing them. (4) Which items returned the greatest receipts and can they or others be increased? (5) Is the- management of the enterprise becoming more efficient effic-ient than it has been in the past? Is the operator becoming a more efficient poultryman? The college Extension Service has a supply of poultry account bodks which are available for 50 cents each.
