Show "All-Risk" Insurancs I Now Made Available to Winter Whe;at Growers All-risk'" crop insurance is now available to winter wheat ariners of Sanpete county, E. H. Anderson, chairman of the Coun- r y AAA committee, announced today. !, j The 1941 crop insurance pro- ' fram is almost the same as the I 1 ?,40 program but the closing date is earlier. August 31 has been set '. the deadline and all applications applica-tions for crop insurance on win-I win-I ter wheat must be filed in the county AAA office on or before ha' da'e. Froducers to insure their 1941 v.htat ;-:eld must apply for in-s'-rance and pay the premium be-,'ore be-,'ore the crop is seeded or by Aug- : est 31, whichever is earlier. i Three methods of paying premiums prem-iums are open to farmers. Prem-.ums Prem-.ums may be paid in cash. A warehouse receipt for wheat may be taken. Or the premium may i ! be paid by executing an advance '( on payments earned or to be i earned under the Agricultural Conservation Program. j-The j-The reason given by Mr. An- r derson for the earlier closing date on crop insurance is that to give all farmers an "even break" it is necessary to have farmers apply for insurance before they know how their crop is going to turn out. ' "You see," he said, "the crop ' insurance program under the ' AAA is a cooperative reserve system. sys-tem. Each farmer by putting in his share of the reserve is en- :' titled to draw out, in case of crop loss, enough heat to make up the loss." "All-risk" insurance guaran- -tees a participating farmer up to 75 per cent of his normal yield. Since the Federal government i pays the cost of administration, all heat placed in reserve is held for crop losses only. That means that every farmer if his rates and yields are accurate shares I-equally I-equally with every other farmer. ', If his losses are high his premiums prem-iums are high. If his losses are low his premiums are correspondingly corre-spondingly low. - It is a program aimed to take some of the gamble out of wheat "J"-i'arming, "J"-i'arming, Mr. Anderson said. p |
