Show SPRING CITY ' By Special Correspondence i Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kirkwood of Kenuner, Wyoming visited their mother, Mrs. llunnuh Sulberg and other relatives here over the week end. Mrs. Ella Allred was hostess . to the members uf the Alethea I ciub at her home in Spring City Friday afternoon. A dainty luncheon was Served. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Gregson Schofield motored to Suit Luke City on Saturday Sat-urday lo visit Bud Benson, their nephew who was in a hospital where he had undergone an operation op-eration lor appendicitis. He took sick while on the way to Suit Lake City on Sunday Sept. 15th, and two companions who were with him took him to the hospital for tiie operation. Young Benson is making his home with Mr. and Mrs. Schofield in Spring City. A number of neighbors, friends and relatives called on Mrs. Eve Jones Allred on Friday 20th wishing her a happy birthday it being her tiOth birthdang anniversary. anniver-sary. tienry Blain has returned home after a visit with relatives in Ogden. He also visited the Utah Stale Fair in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. M- K. Strate are the proud grand parents of a baby boy, born Thursday to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Lund of Ephraim. Mrs. Lund was formerly Miss Eva Strate of this city. It is also the first great grandchild of Mrs. Kristina Strate. Mr. and Mrs. George Allred accompanied ac-companied their daughter, Miss Gwena Allred to Provo on Saturday Sat-urday where she will attend the Brigham Young university this year. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Black motored motor-ed to Provo on Saturday where Miss Mildred Black will attend the B. Y. U. LeWell Stevens and family of Copperton are visiting with rela-nves rela-nves in Spring City for 10 days. Mrs. Theran Maasen and children child-ren are visiting in Moroni with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reese Bradley. I Friday evening in the Victory 'Hall a welcome home and a '.arewell party was given two brothers, sons of Mrs. Eva Erick-Iscn, Erick-Iscn, Austin Ericksen was given the welcome home greeting, the younger brother, Byron Ericksen the larewell party. A program was rendered and dancing enjoyed. enjoy-ed. Byron will take the place vacated when his brother was re-1 re-1 leased and returned home from I the mission field in the Southern slates mission a month ago. Jay Larsen visited the past week in Spring Cuy with relatves Mr. Larsen is in Aeronautic training train-ing at the U. S. Flying Field at Denver, Colorado. Mr. Larsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Larsen Lar-sen formerly of Spring City said "I did enjoy very much my training train-ing and hope to be an expert Air Pilot." ' I Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Frandsen 1 has moved to Mt. Pleasant, their home a one room frame bulding was also moved there. Mrs. Floyd Christensen left Saturday for her home in Moroni after staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Coleman here since July. A wedding reception was given on Wednesday of last week in the the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Coleman to honor Mr. and Mrs. James Casidy who were married Wednesday in the Manti L. D. S. temple. The couple were accompanied ac-companied by the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Worthen of Panguitch, the grandmother, Mrs. Mary K. Allred of Spring City; Mrs. H. M. Naylor and Mrs. M. W. Bigelow of Payson also Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Howell of Fairview witnesses to the marriage ceremony. Mrs. Casidy was Miss Donetta Warthen before her marriage. mar-riage. The young couple left here on Thursday for New York where Mr. Casidy has a position as clerK in a bank at his home town. Mr. and Mrs. John Van Leween and two sons and two daughters and Mrs. Glen Barney all of Salt Lake City were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Coleman Cole-man over the week end and Mrs. Lyle Johnson and daughter of Murray were guests of her grand mother, Mrs. Mary K. Allred. Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. John H. Coleman of the release of their son, Frank who has been laboring in the California Cal-ifornia mission . the past 25 months he has been president of the San Diego branch for the past year. He will arrive in Salt Lake City in time for conference and then return to his home here I about the 10th of October. |
