Show July 4th Was Quietly Spent At Mt. Pleasant This Year July 4th was quietly observed this year at Mt. Pleasant. One of the most interesting meetings ever held in our community com-munity on the 4th of July was held this year. Dr. E. E. Monson, Secretary of State and acting Governor, was the guest speaker on the program. He gave a most interesting patriotic address and one that will long be remembered remem-bered by those who were fortunate for-tunate in hearing him. There was also a most interesting inter-esting musical program in connection con-nection with the address. In the moetinp: it was reported by Mayor John Gunderson, master mas-ter of ceremonies, that Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant had 402 men called into the service from our little community. |
