Show ?;3 Sh'ps In SepSeraber September, American shio-jards shio-jards put on the steam to deliver ninety-three cargo vessels, with a deadweight tonnage of 1,009,-S00 1,009,-S00 tons. This tonnage represents almost as much ship construction as the i.ation accomplished in 1941. It compares with 460 vessels during the first eight months of this year, totaling 5,101,966 tons. Sixtyseven of the vessels ' delivered de-livered in September were Liberty Liber-ty ships, with thirty-seven of them coming from Vaiser's four West Coast shipyards. The other ships included seven cargo-carriers for Great Britain, seven large tankers, three C-l vessels, four C-2s, three C-3s, one passenger passen-ger and cargo vessel and one large ore-carrier. If the same rate of production can be maintained during October, Octo-ber, November and December, the shipyards will reach the President's Pres-ident's objective of 8,000,000 tons in 1912. |
