Show "UTAH STATE NIGHT" TO BE HELD IN TEXAS Several hundred soldiers from the State of Utah including a great many from Central and Southern Utah are planning "U-tah "U-tah State Night" on the evening of November 14 in order to provide pro-vide an opportunity for all the men from the Beehive State in service at Sheppard Field, Wichita Wichi-ta Falls, Texas to get together for a reunion and some really Western entertainment. This is to be the 3rd in the series- of "state nights," to be held for soldiers of Sheppard Field, the Basic Training Center for the Army Air Forces. "Utah State Night" is being handled by an all-soldier committee com-mittee with the co-operation and unstinted help of the USO Club in nearby Wichita Falls, Texas. The affair will be held in the Lamar USO, 1100 Lamar Avenue. Music, singing, refreshments and entertainments of all sorts will feature the program for the evening. eve-ning. Chairman for the event is Pvt. Monitor C. Noyce, of the 62nd Air Base Sqd., and Salt Lake City. In the past, the volunteer response re-sponse from civilians of the respective re-spective states has been most gratifying in the form of messages mes-sages of greeting from individual and groups, a variety of edibles, and personel articles such as shaving cream, handkerchiefs, socks and many other items the contributions have been spontaneous spontan-eous in all cases. |
