Show i'iie 7. D. Candland Oratorical Contest Prelihninary try-outs for par-.icipation par-.icipation in the W. D. Candland annual oratorical contest were neld Wednesday, April 1, im the L. D. S. Seminary building. The North Sanpete Seminary students, under the direction of j -c.r L'dach-er, Mr. A. H. Anderson delivered their orations. Those euk'j.g part were: Dale Seely, Cleone Sidwell, Clyde Chris jen-;en, jen-;en, Carina Darleiyi, Clyde Hansen, Han-sen, Olivo' Stewart, Arcilee All-red, All-red, Maxine Evans, Wanda Vee Stewart, Goldie Tucker, Ruth Allred, Marie Hansen, . Roxey Nelson, Janet Baxter, Tessie aiain, Phyllis Alfred, Oran Stewart. The studenits winning in this contest and to.e subjects of their orations are as follows: Goldie Tucker of Fairvieiw, "The Great-.st Great-.st Thing in- toe World"; Marie Hansen of Mt. Pleasant, "America's "Amer-ica's Promise"; Clyde Hansen oif Spring City, "The Meaning and Significance of Baptism"; Carina Darley of Mt. Pleasant, "The Poison in a Puff"; Tessie .Slain of Spring City, "The Value of Prayer". These winning students iwill deliver their orations to the ,-uolic Sunday evening, April 12 in the Mt. Pleasant South ward chapel where the ifinal descis-.one descis-.one will be made. Judges in the preliminary contest con-test were Mr. Daniel Rasimussen of Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. A. J.
